Single flange wheels are the original track wheel, found on all trains and trams. They are used in the rail, crane and manufacturing sectors for carrying machinery, equipment and vehicles on rails in a straight line and around large radius corners.
The single flange is ideal for wheel-on-track applications that require a flanged wheel to resist a lateral load in one direction. Our standard single flange wheel is CNC machine turned from solid billet forgings. This creates the toughest, most durable wheel with no risk of brittleness, which is a common risk in comparable cast iron wheels. Each standard configuration is supplied with reducer bushings as standard, able to incorporate a standard commercial bolt as the wheel axle (securing the wheel between 2 side plates). Alternatively, the reducers can be removed allowing the wheel to be mounted to a machined axle which may better suit your fitment/project requirements.
If our standard wheel configuration/capacity options don’t quite meet your project requirements, below are some examples of typical single flanged wheel configurations we can manufacture.
